Daily Routine and Cleaning Schedule
This must be one of my favorite topics to read about and binge watch on Youtube. Am I the only one or are you planner and routine obsessed? I cannot even begin to say how helpful all the Youtuber’s #Dayinthelife videos were when I first became a mother and then even more as I became a sahm. It was an eye opener to be able to actually see someone else’s schedule, so I could better adjust mine to see what worked for me.
With that in mind I have decided to share my daily routine and cleaning schedule with you.I have also come out with a FREE printable weekly planner that is great for a quick snapshot of your goals and well-being. The link to the free planner is at the bottom of this post.
Morning 6:00am to 9:00am
Our mornings in this house generally start at 6:00am since George has taken to working a second job until we move to Michigan. Our son for some reason has also started waking up around this time instead of his normal 7:30am time. I miss my hour of no baby time to get myself awake. I am not a wake up and go person I need at least 15 to 20 minutes and maybe a hot tea. However, our son wakes up happy and ready to punch the morning in the face! This he gets from his father. I mean it’s like they could go run a 5k as soon as their feet hit the ground and I am just over there like don’t talk to me…lol.
So, aside from vegging on the couch for 15 to 20 minutes I generally like to start my morning off with a little straightening. George works nights so he isn’t home until late which means I have dishes in the sink when I wake. For all my lifers, who are a part of my email tips and tricks, I know I say wake up with a clean sink. Well life sometimes just doesn’t work that way and that is OK! The point is to find happiness in your mornings to start your day off right!!! As long as he isn’t coming home and cooking a 5-course meal I can still smile when I see my sink.
6:00am wake up toss in bed and chat with SO
6:15am Go grab Ty who is getting bored laying in his crib (Side note I am like the luckiest person Ty is 2 and a half and has no interest in climbing out of his crib and he will lay there for about 15 to 20 minutes too)
6:15am to 6:30am cuddle with Ty if he will let me or just wake up some more
6:30am Make breakfast (you do not have to go all out every day… my child all this week got Lucky Charms #Momwasbusy)
6:30am to 6:45am Eat breakfast
6:45am to 7:15am Dishes, pick up clothes on floor (SO he cannot make the hamper), straighten shoes
7:15am to 7:30am Talk with Ty/ Play (If he isn’t in the mood to talk I work)
7:30am to 7:45am Get snacks and drinks together for Stroller Strides
7:45am to 8:30am Chill/ check social media, edit pictures, or just veg out
8:30am to 9:00am Get Dressed for Stroller Stride both Ty and I
9:00am in the car to meet up with my Tribe #Fit4MomofNavarre
Active Time 9:30am to 11:30am
This has to be one of my favorite parts of my day. That is even true on days I do not want to go, because by the end of workout and playtime I am feeling better. Plus, I know I have gotten Ty out to play for at least an hour in the sun.
If y’all do not currently make time to workout or socialize with humans who do not come to your hip than you must give it a try!!! The first two weeks as a sahm were so tough and had me in tears most afternoons. Then one day laying in bed telling George I somehow needed to find other mom friends he was like “oh I saw some sort of stroller mafia at the park yesterday morning”. Giggling a little I asked what were they doing and he said working out. So, one day after deciding I did not yet have the courage to seek these stroller mafia women out I created a Meetups.com page and was going to the park to hang a sign that was like “I am a mom need friends with kids…playdate?” Well I couldn’t hang my sign because there those women were. So, after what felt like 10 minutes I opened the car door, strolled over, and now I am in LOVE!!!
Active Mid-Morning Schedule
9:15am to 9:30am Unpack stroller and let Ty play
9:30am to 10:30am Workout and let’s be honest talk and talk and yep more talking (The workouts are great you will see a difference in your body and mind)
10:20am (last 10 minutes we stretch) to 11:30am Ty play time or craft if we have a scheduled craft that class
11:30am head home
*** No workouts on Sundays so I normally just meetup with some of the moms for playdates or just take Ty to the park.***
NAP TIME!!!! 12:00pm to 3:00pm
After our fun in the sun we both are normally pretty hungry and ready to relax for a bit. So, when we get home I make us lunch. Right now, my go to is Ramen with cheese. A few weeks ago, it was cheese quesadillas. I also always keep pepperoni and sliced cheese in case I make something Ty will not eat. I give Ty about 30-minutes after eating to play or relax before putting him to bed. I like doing this because it is not healthy to eat and then sleep immediately.
While Ty is sleeping I normally do a little bit of afternoon chores and then work. I love working in a nice quiet area. That goes double for when I am writing a blog.
Nap Time Breakdown
12:00pm to 12:30pm Lunch
12:30pm to 12:45pm Dishes
12:45pm to 1:00pm get Ty ready for nap time / quiet time which for him means he gets two books he can read
1:00pm to 3:00pm Ty is in his crib either napping or having quiet time
1:00pm to 1:45pm cleaning (Vacuum if no one else is napping, complete one or two weekly cleaning items, and sweep)
1:45pm to 3:00pm Working on Blog or if I have a cake order then on my cake order
No Homeschool Days 3:00pm to 5:00pm
I do a little homeschool routine for Ty Thursday through Sunday just so he isn’t behind when we decide to put him in a preschool or kindergarten. As far as Monday through Wednesday goes we have a more flexible schedule since daddy is off and this is normally the time we have family day and date night. If nothing gets planned for that day I either take Ty on a walk or to the park for the second time that day.
3:00m t0 5:00pm Nothing planned… may go to the park again
